About the Publication

Literature & Aesthetics is the Journal of the Sydney Society of Literature and Aesthetics, established to promote the study of the arts, from philosophical, psychological, sociological, scientific, historical, critical and educational standpoints.  With guest editors Zoe Alderton and Johanna Petsche, the June 2011 issue was dedicated to an exploration of the legacies and impact of Theosophy, the subject of a two-day conference held at the University of Sydney in October 2011, titled The Legacies of Theosophy: Unveiling Mysteries of the Creative Imaginary.
